Power Quality Monitoring


The client had lost one of the key 1.5MW, 6.6kV High-Lift pump motors resulting in R3.8 Mil repair costs.

They asked Lithendo Consulting to commission a Power Quality Monitoring study to assess the quality of power received from the supply utility. As part of the study, Lithendo Consulting recorded and analyzed the following variables:

  • Harmonic Content from the Voltage Signal (Fundamental to 31)
  • Harmonic Content from the Current Signal (Fundamental to 31)
  • Power Factor
  • Load Balance
  • Real, Reactive and Apparent Power consumption
  • Transients
  • Flicker
  • Phase Sequence
  • K-Factor
